BIG SANDY AREA LAKES WATERSHED
 MANAGEMENT PROJECT
[Covering portions of Aitkin, Carlton, and St. Louis Counties]

BSALWMP
Watershed Restoration & Protection Project  (WRAPP)
The Big Sandy Area Lakes Watershed is part of the larger Upper Mississippi River - Grand Rapids Unit watershed.  This watershed includes portions of Aitkin, Carlton, Itasca, St. Louis, and Cass counties.

The Project began in 2015 with 2 years of intensive watershed monitoring.  The collected data has been reviewed and summarized.  We are now in the process of developing strategies to repair the impaired waters, and protect the waters that are in good health.

Local input is needed - this will help to ensure that strategies proposed for restoring / protecting water quality reflect the desires of the local citizens.  Would you like to become an Ambassador?  Give us a call, we'd love to have you join us!  (218) 927-6565.
